New Design Here

I decided that it was time to update the look and feel of this website, since it hadn’t been updated since late 2007 (I think). Also, as I’ve become more interested in following the intersection of sports and social media, I’ve spent less time focused on business aspects of sports, which is what the old design emphasized.

I found this great WordPress theme from Think Design, and modified it just a little bit. I hope the result is a cleaner/more professional look (I was tired of that giant polaroid picture of me in the middle of the site). I still have a few kinks to work out and will probably cut down on the categories some.

I’d love to hear what you think, and if there’s anything I should add. I’m not an expert coder by any means, but I’m open to suggestions.

    Very well done Jason – I’m almost starting to regret to be reading your posts (almost) only through my RSS feed! :-)

    Can you indicate which plug-ins you’ve installed on this theme?

    One suggestion: I’m guessing the tick-box below the “Sumbit Comment” button is meant to allow your commenters to track responses to their comments? The label of the box is not visible, you may want to correct that…

    I may actually also select this theme for my upcoming blog (also powered by WordPress) – would you mind? If I do, I promise I’ll “tweak” it enough so it’s not a total copycat! And I’ll let you have the URL, of course…

    Thanks for the kind words. I somehow didn’t even notice that box below the “submit comment” button, so thanks for pointing that out. I’ll see if I can clarify what it’s for.

    The plugins I’m using include Platinum SEO, Akismet, cforms, Google Sitemaps and one to redirect my rss feed through feedburner.

    Feel free to use this theme– I didn’t create it and I’m sure I’m not the only one using it. Look forward to seeing how your site turns out with it.
