Jason, are schools really that protective? Are there articles out there or have you spoken to athletic directors about this? I played sports at three different schools and I don't think anyone on my teams were ever being watched or regulated from what they said or what pictures they posted on Myspace and Facebook. They posted whatever they wanted, and many had and still have provocative pictures (half naked, drinking, partying etc.) Coaches never said anything to my teams, nor did anyone on the school board.

I think (my opinion) since facebook is so popular, (and built its popularity originally with college students) that a sports site combining the principles of the OG Facebook and Takkle could potentially be a hit. There is more on the line with college sports, and there are more potential fans to be on the site since the popular college athletes are nationally recognized.

What are your thoughts?

Hey Lewis - The challenge would be that many schools are very very protective of their athletes' presence online. And if every move is watched/regulated, it won't be fun for the athletes. So I'm not sure if it would work..

Jason,

Nice review of Takkle. What do you think about a Takkle for college athletes? Do you think it would be as popular or would college athletes think it is too lame?
