IFL Unveils New Logo, Rebrands Teams

New IFL Logo

The IFL has unveiled a new logo as part of a rebranding effort that includes a relaunch of the league’s web site, www.IFL.tv. I think I like the new logo–the old one was more in your face, but this new one has a more professional feel to it.

As part of this relaunch, the IFL has made a smart move by getting rid of its league-created team logos and building its teams around coaches’ camps. Instead of team names such as the Los Angeles Anacondas,  New York Pitbulls, Toronto Dragons, etc, the IFL will now brand its teams according to their coaches camps (Ken Shamrock’s Lion Den, Xtreme Couture, Militech Fighting Systems, etc). This is a good move for the IFL because the old team names were just names, while the new team names mean something to the the MMA fan. Names like Couture and Shamrock are recognizable and respected and this should hopefully add some more legitimacy to the league and help them build more awareness.

What do you think about the new logo and team names?

[...] Jason Peck looked at the rebirth of the IFL (International Fight League).  He pointed out something in the article which I found very interesting; the team names are based on the team coach instead of a city or area (i.e. Ken Shamrock’s Lion’s Den). (via Take A Peck) [...]
